In September 2018 WONCA Executive endorsed the Young Doctors’ Movement.
The WONCA regional movements for young and future family doctors are going from strength to strength. The first group formed, in 2005, was the Vasco da Gama Movement in Europe. This was followed by Asia Pacific’s Rajakumar Movement, the Iberoamericana-CMIF region’s Waynakay Movement, The South Asia region Spice Route Movement; The AfriWon in the WONCA Africa region; the Al Razi movement the East Mediterranean region and The North America group, Polaris.
The global pandemic has highlighted the importance of virtual learning due to the limitation of physical distancing. Therefore, Wonca 2021 Virtual Conference in building a virtual mentorship model to expand on Wonca’s work on mentorship and guidance.
Experienced physicians are given the opportunity to lead young doctors providing guidance, mentorship, and learning opportunities through virtual conference platform using messaging and video conferencing.
Please note that the participation at the mentorship program will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and while all young doctors registered to the Wonca 2021 Virtual Conference will be eligible to participate, places will be limited and therefore pre-registration through the application form will be required to book your place.
Please note Virtual Mentors will receive an appreciation certificate from Wonca 2021 Virtual Conference for their voluntary work in supporting young family doctors.
